Homemade to Perfection – Cardboard Colt 1911

Inspired and pressured by a friend of mine who made his own cardboard M4A1/AR15 (which for the record was made on a toy gun base), I have decided to start a cardboard Colt M1911 project. The real M1911 is a high caliber combat proven pistol which is highly reliable and has been in use in many conflicts and wars including the Korean war, World War II, and also infamously in the Vietnam war.

The M1911 cardboard replica will have a 1:1 ratio to the real handgun,  the thickness, height, length , and other measurements are exactly the same as the original. The mechanisms will not be 100% replicated as the pistol operation is too advanced and will not work if made out of cardboard.

The slide action, trigger and hammer, magazine release and slide lock will all be functional. Working functions like the trigger and the slide will be spring-loaded so the movable pistol parts will be retractable and will reset in place. The sights will also be incorporated and will be extremely accurate to a real Colt.
